FAQs

3Dnet Medical FAQs

3Dnet Medical: Is it a RIS/PACS solution in the Cloud?
3Dnet Medical is a Medical Imaging Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. As such, it offers a plethora of on-demand applications (services) accessible and ran from the internet. Some of these services overlap the functionalities provided by conventional RIS/PACS solutions, but many extend beyond, including advanced visualisation and analysis packages, developed in house and by third parties.

3Dnet Medical: Is 3Dnet a complement or replacement solution of existing RIS/PACS?
The fact is that most large healthcare organisations heavily rely on RIS/PACS systems – which often represent great financial investments, come with long-term binding contracts and only require additional packages for connectivity or analysis. 3Dnet Medical can be used for these specific services and will seamlessly integrate with existing solutions through IHE & HL7 standards.

For any organisation looking for a RIS/PACS replacement, 3Dnet Medical also offers services for data archiving, transfer and general information management requirements.

3Dnet Medical: Is it only designed for clinicians?

3Dnet Medical has been designed to solve medical imaging problems; for clinical practice andvarious other healthcare related entities.

3Dnet Medical offers a great flexibility to create “virtual” sites and user groups within an organisation, define data access permissions and associate specific services, either subscribed or home-grown integrated apps. This flexibility is important for businesses such as pharmaceutical, but is even more primordial for research organisations, allowing them to implement their own solutions in the platform and benefit from all the advantages the cloud offers for multi-site collaborative development, trials and validation.
